Doors open to Europe: AEKS starts European Partner Cooperation

Last summer we received good news; AEKS was selected as Partner in two European Civil Society Projects. It was like receiving a present for the 100-year old Finland. AEKS was accepted in “Eurosceptisim” project coordinated by a Spanish civil society organisation and Skills for Seniors led by an Italian coordinator. The crystal ball shows that we in AEKS will have an opportunity to present our local good practices of civil society work for seniors and youth to our European Partners. As the home base of our association is in Asikkala Finland, we can already foresee how our European guests will refresh themselves of the beautiful Finnish nature around Päijänne Lake and Pukkilanharju Hill, whether it’s Nordic walking or any other sports activity. Senior courses of Wellamo College, digital workshops and the exemplary physical exercise for senior citizens by Asikkala Municipality will surely have a positive impact on our guests representing European civil society organisations. Our cooperation partner EKE ry (Never Retire) will be pleased to present their activities, too.

The start of the two European Civil Society projects is well supporting AEKS vision of promoting European cooperation and strategic goal of cooperating actively in European projects. Now we are inviting all persons and organisations in Finland to become members of AEKS and to promote open and innovative European cooperation!
