Active European Citizen (AEKS) is a non-profit organisation based in Finland in December 2015. The aim of AEKS is to encourage active and democratic participation of European citizens, by developing and promoting opportunities for societal and intercultural engagement and volunteering among the European citizens as well as to contribute to the policy making at EU level.
AEKS aims in particular to promote active European cooperation in welfare services, education, culture and other fields of relevance to the European civil society. AEKS works in cooperation with European partners by encouraging in European project activities, organizing events for exchange and discussion as well as engaging in research and publishing activities pertinent to the development of the European civil society.
AEKS vision is to actively promote European cooperation in welfare services, education, culture and other fields and to engage citizens and communities to build up a modern European civil society.
AEKS aims to achieve the vision with the following activities:
- Engaging in European and international projects
- Organizing events for exchange and discussion
- Conducting research, information and publishing activities
- Networking and collaborating with other organisations to develop the European civil society.
AEKS welcomes members to engage in its activities to build up a modern European society. The membership consists of individual persons and organizations.

- Organization 80 €.
Individuals can replace their membership fee by sharing their good practices with other members on AEKS’ website.
